On October 6, 2023, the Miami Catholic Lawyers’ Guild held a very well attended and meaningul symposium, My Faith in Practice, a Place for Spirituality in Our Profession, at the
U.S. Judge Rodolfo Ruiz II will keynote a seminar on faith and law Oct. 6 at the MorningStar Renewal Center in Pinecrest.[/caption]

USDC Judge Rodolfo Ruiz delivered the keynote address, emphasizing the need for the Holy Spirit’s gifts of humility and empathy for lawyers, Catholic or not. The stimulating, touching address was followed by table discussions among all who attended, resulting in some soul-searching among the participants as to have they have—or have not–followed the tenets of their Catholic faith both as lawyers, family members and members of the community at large.
The symposium concluded with a lovely meal and wine.
The next session of this same symposium will be held in April of 2024.
The symposium earned about $4000 for the Guild’s “home parish”, GESU Church.
